Replacement of HMA Frequency regulators

TES Industrial Systems was contracted by PSA Antwerp to replace the crane controllers on the six existing crane installations at the Europa Terminal (Quay 869).

The outdated HMA frequency regulators, for which there were no available (spare) parts, were replaced by two Siemens Masterdrive regulators and linked to a feedback unit using a DC bus. The existing motors were reused for this project.

The GE Fanuc PLC that was already present was left in place and no adjustments were made. The modification was executed in such a way that the existing PLC programme could be reused in its existing form. After commissioning the first crane, five other cranes followed in quick succession whereby the turnaround was kept to a minimum each time.
